Tokyo Disney Sea Tips and Tricks

Disney Land or Disney Sea? That will probably be one of your dilemma when you go to Tokyo. I've been to HongKong Disney Land and they say all Disney Lands are pretty much the same so deciding was quite easy for me. Convincing my friends to choose Disney Sea as well was a different story. So I laid the cards on the table.
1. Disney Sea is more "adult oriented" than Disney Land which didn't exactly help my case since they weren't into extreme rides. If you have kids with you Disney Land is probably the way to go.
2. Disney Land is more crowded than Disney Sea. One point for Disney Sea!
3. Disney Sea doesn't have the same "Disney Vibe" as Disney Land if you know what I mean (except probably when watching Fantasmic which you shouldn't miss!!!)
4. You can only find Disney Sea in Tokyo. You can't find it anywhere else unlike Disney Land. uh huh Two points to Disney Sea!
It's still 50 50 but I guess it depends on your priorities. Numbers 3 and 4 weighs a lot but I think number 4 kind of sealed the deal.
It was drizzling when we arrived good thing we came prepared or you'd have to buy rain coats for ¥500 - ¥1300.

Next is when to go? As a general rule, don't go to amusement parks on weekends or holidays for obvious reasons. Although it didn't help us because we went on a peak season (cherry blossom) which also happens to be their spring break. You can also check the following crowd calendar for guidelines.

How to go? Ride a train to Maihama station depending on where you are. Go to Hyperdia site to help you navigate which trains you should ride and the trip schedule. At Maihama, you can already see the Disney Resort. Disney has their own train which has 3 stations. Disney Land, Disney Resort and Disney Sea. Just go down to your intended destination.

Check what time the park opens and be there at least an hour before opening especially when you don't have your tickets yet. Because you have to fall in line buying tickets and fall in line getting in the park. We already bought our tickets online to avoid the hassle. Also when it gets too crowded the park restricts entry so better be sure and buy the tickets already.

When you enter the park, the friendly staff are waiting to welcome you, waving and smiling and giving directions. When you run into them they are always smiling and very friendly. The aura is just contagious unlike my experience in HongKong Disney Land.

First thing we did was fall in line for the "Fast Pass". It's like an express pass in Universal Studios except it's free. Your tickets have bar codes which you just need to tap in the Fast Pass Machines so you'll have a ticket like the one below. This means we can go in the ride without having to fall in line from 10:20 to 11:20. Note that you can only use the fast pass ticket once. And you can only get your next Fast Pass after 10:20 in this case. While waiting for our fast pass, we also fell in line and after the ride it was already time for our fast pass so we got to ride it twice.

Journey to the Center of the Earth
Before you know it the ride was over. There's a drop but nothing chickens can't handle XD

After that we tried getting a fast pass for Toy Story Mania but they're no longer available(It was just around 10:45AM) and waiting time was 4 hours. So we just pretty much strolled around and took pictures.

The park was picture perfect. A lot of things to see and explore outside.

There are also Disney Characters roaming around giving autographs Yes! Autographs for whatever reason I don't know XD

The volcano behind me erupts from time to time but no worries it's totally safe.
You can even take a gondolla tour around the park.

There's also this place where you can buy a map for ¥500 which contains a puzzle and some clues. You have to go around to solve the puzzles which I think was genius to keep people busy and provide a different kind of adventure.

Most of the clues are in this castle and in the ship below I think.

Photo Ops here and there

We ate at New York Deli which sells burgers and sandwiches which we didn't like. Food Price range is around ¥1000 - ¥2000.

Then we got bored and decided to fall in line for Toy Story Mania. Waiting Time was 200minutes but we just waited around 2 hours. It was a fun and competitive ride between friends so make sure you're seated next to a friend.

After that we secured our place to watch Fantasmic in the Mediterranean area. And the show was FANTASMIC!!! This is something you shouldn't miss. We were also able to watch other shows like Mickey and Friends? or something like that and A Table's Waiting but Fantasmic was the best.

And then finally it was time to go home. We had a really good time and all the wait was worth it. Next time I'll be back for Disney Land. :)
